I know, I posted a lot of night shots of Kitzbühel, but the main idea of going on a snowboard trip is that you hit the slopes during the day. Since I do not really trust my snowboarding skills enough to take my camera up on the slopes, I had to limit my photographic activities to evenings/nights.

This shot is a 30 seconds exposure (which was a bit too dark), saved by pulling it up 3 stops. The view shows the field we could snowboard down to our hotel, which you can see on about 1/3rd from the bottom of the picture, right in the middle

Hi Kris,

What does “pulling it up 3 stops” means? My experience with digital cameras being limited to a Canon A20 there are some concepts I am not familiar with :)

Actually in simple terms, it just means: I made it “brighter” :)

So, for example, if I wanted to take this picture without having to mess with the brightness I would have to set my shutter speed to (2^3) 8 times the exposure of the picture. Considering this picture has a shutter speed of 30 seconds, that would mean a shutter speed of 4 minutes.
