This morning after our breakfast (with a boiled egg and some orange juice) we’ve made our backpack (lunch, drinks, spray and camera). We arrived at Buntzen Lake around 12:15.

We decided to start wit an easy hike, so we did the Buntzen Lake trail. The book said the trail was 8km long and it would take us 4 to 5 hours to complete it. The maximum elevation gain was 100m.

I thought that they meant that you wouldn’t elevate more than 100m during the whole trip, boy was I wrong:). But it was a good exercise for one of our next trails (the Dilly Dally loop with an elevation of 1150m. The description of the trail: Dilly dally along this trail and you’ll be spending the night.) I think I will have to train a little bit more before I’ll be doing the dilly dally thing.

Back to the Buntzen Lake trail. So, it was OK to start with, some passages where pretty steep (uphill and downhill) but we’ve managed to do the trail in 3 hours.

Along the trail a sign said cougars have been spotted lately. We didn’t really know what cougars were, so we looked it up when we got back. Good thing we had a lack of knowledge at that point, apparently cougars are mountain lions. I would love to see one, but I think it’s a good thing too keep your distance from animals like that :p. We haven’t seen any wildlife today, so better luck next time.

Below some pictures of the hike.

I wish everybody a nice week and enjoy your day!

Like someone said before : why can’t you just do everyday boring stuff like everyone else? :) This looks amazing, I hope I’ll be able to see all this with my own eyes one day.
