A while ago, Kris and I were invited to go to a wedding.

Traditions here are slightly different than European traditions, that’s for sure!

It all started with a wonderful ceremony. While bride and groom were reading the vows and saying “I do” we had a magnificent view on English Bay and the North Shore Mountains. Probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to for a wedding.

After the ceremony, we went to the reception. It’s a little bit different than a European wedding reception though, in Canada the word “reception” stands for the actual dinner and party.

A ‘Musical chairs’ game decided which table could go to the buffet first.
And if you think that’s original, wait until the next part…

Throughout the evening they had a spinning wheel called: the Kissing Game. Friends and family could come and spin the wheel. Each part of the wheel had a different assignment, for example: Show a kissing style to the newly weds, kiss the person sitting next to you at your table, Wedding trivia,…

After dinner, the bride tossed the bouquet and the groom tossed the garter (which he had to find first of course).

Below some pictures of the lovely bride and groom and their wedding:

Fun fact for the Sex And The City fans among us:
The bride was wearing the same blue Manolo shoes as Carrie in Sex And The City! They were so pretty!

Thanks bride and groom for a wonderful day!

Ik meen daar een 16-35 f/2.8 te bespeuren in de taart-foto. Een kenner dus.
