The Orbitron, Machines Volantes, in Disneyland Paris is a rocket-spinner attraction featured at all five Magic Kingdom-style parks at Walt Disney Resorts around the world. Although each ride may have a different name, all share the same premise of rockets spinning around a central monument, commonly a large rocket.

Here you can find pictures of how this ride looks like in the other Disney parks around the world:

Two weeks ago we visited Disneyland in Paris. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to go there. But actually until last week I never went to Disneyland before.

Even though I nagged like hell to go there, my parents didn’t like the idea of visiting Disneyland. So there I was a innocent little child that never went to Disneyland before…
After the disappointment that my parents didn’t want to go with me I found a new victim who I could try to convince to take me to Disneyland. It took me more than 7 years to convince Kris to go with me, but finally, I succeeded! (special thanks to Kris;))

I didn’t know what to expect but it was worth the 7 years of nagging (and even more).

Pumpkin Men

I always thought: if you enter the park it’s not going to be any different than other amusement parks. But boy, was I wrong.

As soon as you enter the park your surrounded by magical things. The theme of the park was Halloween. The park maintenance have put so much effort in the decoration of the park. You could see pumpkins everywhere. There was a Halloween village with a Halloween parade, immediately followed by the Disney parade. Finally I could see the parade that is always shown in movies and commercials. All my favorite Disney figures, all in once:
The little mermaid,
Alice in Wonderland, …

Disneyland, a dream that actually did came true…

This weekend, we made a trip to Disneyland Paris together with David (colleague and friend from work) and his girlfriend Elke. I think my last visit to a Disney resort was about 9 years ago, so I knew this was going to be a nostalgic weekend :)

We booked the trip through the internet a month in advance and the cost was 584€ for 4 persons. This included a 2 day hopper pass for the two parks and one night in Hotel Santa Fe (The cheapest Disney hotel). One of the main advantages of staying in a Disney hotel is that you can enter the main park at 8 am, two hours before the park opens, which was great for me since this allowed me to take some sunrise pictures when the park was not yet flooded with people.

The picture below was taken at 8:45 and shows the Sleeping Beauty Castle, which is the center and the main building of the park, at morning commute. The castle was inspired by the Neuschwanstein Castle in Southern Germany, which I hope we will be able to visit this winter. The last time I visited Neuschwanstein was about 15 years ago, so I don’t remember much of that trip :)
